Pediatric eye exams

Eye health protection starts early. If you suspect a vision disorder, your child’s eyes should undergo a first complete eye exam between the ages of 6 and 9 months. Another full vision exam is recommended around age 3 and then, right before your child enters kindergarten. The exam should be conducted annually, all the way to adulthood.

Our team of specialized optometrists has solid expertise when it comes to dealing with children and conducting efficient, comprehensive exams.

Eye exams are important for young children who are starting school. Testing makes it possible to quickly detect certain vision problems, such as issues with color, binocular vision, refraction or even visual acuity. Early detection allows for appropriate treatment and helps the child do well at school (reading, clearly seeing the blackboard or even participating in sports becomes easier).

Nowadays, with all the screens (cell phones, tablets, computers, etc.) that are present in children’s lives, it’s become vital to have their visual health checked out regularly.
