Eye emergencies

The majority of eye emergency cases result directly from an accident. There are, however, a number of emergency situations that are not related to trauma, but that require consultation with a healthcare professional.

  • Sudden loss or decreased vision
  • Suddenly seeing double blurry
  • Red eye
  • Abnormal light sensitivity
  • Extreme pain
  • Hardening of the eye
  • Foreign object present in the eye
  • Appearance of flashes or floaters that move within your field of vision.
  • Infection
  • Inflammation
  • Dry eye
  • Herpes
  • Eye bleed or hemorrhages
